Just returned from an insanely satisfying crab meal at Ang Mo Kio! took a couple of pictures but am lazy to upload it. On the way back, we had a really hilarious conversation in the car; J and I were arguing about Republicans Vs Democrats -

Me: So if you were the President of United States, would you be concerned about promoting greater economic growth or the rising rates of abortions?

J: Of cos the first one la. Afterall, there will always be people like Aung San Soo Kee around right? I wouldn't want to be locked up in a house doing nothing.

Me: *bursts into laughter*

I need to sleep right now but I'm really craving for crayfish horfun :( J's parents packed it back for us over the weekend and I finished one whole packet myself (and so did J). Felt so greedy! I think one serving was enough for 2. The taste of crayfish was exactly like that of a GIANT prawn... only juicier and more tender. I like peeling off the crayfish from the shell or even better still, with my fingers :)

Anyway it was such a long, glorious weekend. If only all Mondays were like that.

On Friday, J and I went out for dinner at Restaurant Ember which is located at the very quaint Hotel 1929, along Keong Saik Road. The food was absolutely  d i v i n e! The staff there were wonderful and we met the very famous chef as well. Took a couple of shots at the boutique lobby when it was empty, save for the two of us.

There's this thing about boutique hotels that I love... the quaint lobby, avante-garde walls, designer bathrooms, quirky beds and vintage couches. We tried out Gallery Hotel once and it was fabulous! Though it's not exactly the typical sort of boutique hotel you find in Chinatown. The decor at the Scarlette Hotel was pretty amazing, gotta try their cuisine someday. So is the Majestic Hotel... till next time.

All made up on a psychedelic Friday

Whilst waiting for J... carpark was a bitch!

Oysters! Am I the only one who happens to think they look like spicy drumlets.... loved the six different sauces on shot glasses. There was peanut butter and sweet wasabi.

Foie gras with shitake. I ate 70% of it.

Kindly ignore the yellow spills. IT WAS SO DAMN GOOOD! It's making me salivate.
Definitely better than TWR.

My main course - lamb rack. see the swipe of gold dust on the right hand side? It's apparently edible.

I am back after a month. Life has been so madly busy i feel like i can't breathe until it's night time. Then I climb into bed, wake up at 6 and the whole vicious feeling persists like a cycle. I am looking forward to Friday and dressing up for it :) Then I need to get some studying done, check out alcoholic ice-cream at Udders and desserts at Bakerz Inn (50% off for the month of August!) I also need to post up travel photos, PRONTO.

Meanwhile, let's see what I can dig up. Most of the stash is over at J's place where I am so used to operating his Mac. This old beaten-up Acer needs to take a backseat... I need to get a hard disk so I can save ALL the photos (travel & misc) and post them up. Flickr or Pbase? I used to be a fan of Photobucket but I realised it is fond of making your bandwith exceed, urging you to upgrade to Pro so I shall cross that out.

Anyway, here goes.

Us.

The following are some virgin DSLR shots I attempted in March this year. Daniel was kind enough to "tutor" me. I think we were at Fort Canning?

I just revamped this space. Can't seem to steer myself away from the whole cheongsams-dark-alleys-and-narrow-corridors theme can i?! I have also recently finished the book "Blink" and I like it very much. Right now, I'm on the first few pages of "The World is Flat"... Stimulating, I must say.

I have no idea what happened to my old entries... Wondering if they got deleted somehow.

It actually feels weird typing strings of words into Livejournal...  Nevertheless, the lady is back! :)
